These are the Four Uzwelo Home Scheduled annual events .
KEEPING A GIRL AT SCHOOL.
In South Africa, there are 7,000 000 girls between the ages of 13 and 19. Four million of these girls, according to statistics, do not regularly have access to sanitary goods. An inadequate supply of sanitary napkins and proper facilities for sanitation can reduce a girl's annual attendance at school by 25%. Girls living in remote regions in the Mkhondo area had this need met by Ms. Karen Nieuwenhuizen and Riana Brits. Reusable, washable sanitary gear is funded by community service projects like fun runs.
By allowing females to continue their education through the educational programmes, they also hope to enable them to realise their full potential. This programme has helped about 300 females from the Uzwelo programmes.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH DAY
Community Outreach Day: An event devoted to interacting with the neighbourhood and helping those in need by offering programmes, services, or resources at Piet Retief Hospital .
Sharing time with staff and new mothers and clothes for babies are acts of generosity and kindness our children and staff enjoy undertaking.
ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
Communal vegetable gardens in communities assist disadvantaged families. Feeding schemes operating in school holidays receive fresh vegetables to add to the menu.
VOLUNTEERS
The volunteer program's objectives are to use volunteers to launch new initiatives, expand on current services, and offer general support in accordance with Uzwelo Home's needs. Depending on their interests, experience, and the needs of the organisation, screened and knowledgeable volunteers will be used.
